Welcome to Faith Lock, provided by AppEffectsUK (“we”, “us”, “our”). By using Faith Lock (the “App”), you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

These Terms apply to your use of the Faith Lock mobile application and any related content, features, or services.

  1. About Faith Lock

Faith Lock is a devotional productivity app designed to help users focus on daily prayer by temporarily blocking selected distracting apps until the prayer task is completed. It also includes a built-in Bible and tools for tracking spiritual habits.

Faith Lock does not provide medical, psychological, or therapeutic advice. It is strictly for personal, devotional, and lifestyle purposes.

  1. Eligibility

Faith Lock is intended for adults aged 18 and older. By using the App, you confirm that you meet this age requirement.

  1. No User Accounts

Faith Lock does not require or offer user accounts. All personal and devotional data is stored only on your device.

  1. In-App Purchases & Subscriptions

Faith Lock offers optional in-app subscription purchases that unlock premium features. Purchases are processed securely through Apple’s App Store and managed by RevenueCat.

By purchasing a subscription:

You authorize Apple to charge your payment method. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple ID settings.

We do not issue refunds directly. Refund requests must be submitted to Apple.

  1. Use of Screen Time & App Blocking APIs

Faith Lock uses Apple’s FamilyControls, ManagedSettings, and Screen Time APIs to block apps on your device.

By using Faith Lock, you agree that:

You grant the required permissions for app blocking to function. Faith Lock does not collect or transmit information about your installed apps or their usage.

Your device handles all blocking functionality securely.

  1. User Responsibilities

You agree not to:

Misuse the App for unlawful or harmful purposes. Attempt to reverse engineer, modify, or copy the App. Circumvent or disable features designed to create focus time. Use Faith Lock in situations where blocking apps may cause harm (e.g., during emergencies).

Faith Lock is not intended to restrict essential communication or emergency access.

  1. Intellectual Property

All content within Faith Lock — including the Bible text, app design, graphics, logos, and branding — is owned by AppEffectsUK or licensed appropriately.

You may not reproduce, distribute, or modify any part of the App without written permission.

  1. Privacy

Your use of the App is governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains:

9.1 No Guarantees

Faith Lock is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee:

uninterrupted or error-free operation that the App will meet your personal goals that blocking apps will improve your devotion, productivity, or habits

9.2 Not Professional Advice

Faith Lock does not offer counselling, mental health support, or pastoral care. Always seek appropriate professional guidance where needed.

  1. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, AppEffectsUK is not liable for:

loss of data stored on your device impacts caused by blocked apps interruptions, failures, or errors caused by third-party services (e.g., Firebase, RevenueCat, Apple APIs) any indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the App

Your use of Faith Lock is at your own discretion and risk.

  1. Changes to the App or Terms

We may update Faith Lock or these Terms at any time. If changes are significant, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.

Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

  1. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the App if:

you violate these Terms we believe your use negatively impacts the App or other users

You may stop using Faith Lock at any time by deleting the App.

  1. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom. Any disputes will be resolved under UK jurisdiction.
